GEORGIA STATE TEST OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
The Georgia State Test of English Proficiency (GSTEP) is required for most new international graduate students at Georgia State.
Students typically take this exam during the Graduate Student Orientation approximately two weeks before fall semester begins. A smaller administration of the GSTEP is available at the beginning of spring semester. The GSTEP is administered online.
GSTEP scores are used to place students in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. New international graduate students should contact their academic department to find out if they require GSTEP scores. There is no cost for this test.
Contact the Graduate School for information about the Graduate Student Orientation. Contact Sharon Cavusgil, [email protected], for questions about the GSTEP.
NOTE: Test takers who have disabilities or special needs, please send an e-mail to Georgia State's Access and Accommodations Center ([email protected]) specifying your request for test accommodations. This must be done three weeks prior to the test.
